On 1st of January 2017 the project AQUARIUS has officially launched. This is our fifth project of the Horizon 2020 program, which is the biggest funding program for research and innovation in the European Union ever.

In the AQUARIUS project with partners from Austria, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany we will work on creating devices that allow monitoring of oil pollution in the transmission networks of drinking and industrial water.
The solution is based primarily on the use of advanced tunable quantum cascade lasers (QCL) as well as fast and sensitive photodetectors (produced in VIGO Photonics SA). The task of VIGO will be to develop optimized modules detection systems with data acquisition and processing.

Technikon Forschungs – und Planungsgesellschaft MBH is the main coordinator of the research.
The project will last for 3 years, and it will cost 3 891 263,75 EUR.
The project is 100% funded by the European Union.
