VIGO Photonics at SPIE Photonics West – Technology Potential in Real-World Applications

PRESS RELEASE

Ożarów Mazowiecki, February 9, 2026

VIGO Photonics once again presented its latest achievements in infrared radiation detection during the SPIE Photonics West 2026 exhibition in San Francisco. This event is among the most significant global gatherings for the photonics industry, bringing together technology, science, and industry leaders from around the world.

During this year's edition, VIGO Photonics focused on showcasing specific applications of its solutions, responding directly to real customer needs. This approach allowed for deeper engagement with booth visitors and demonstrated the potential of VIGO technology in real-world applications, inspiring partners toward new directions in project development.

The company focused on three key application areas:

  • Gas Analysis – Spectroscopy-based solutions capable of detecting even single gas molecules, used in environmental protection and industrial processes.

  • Thermal Detection – Technologies dedicated to non-contact temperature measurement as well as the control and optimization of industrial processes.

  • Defense and Security – Solutions used in laser radiation detection systems and technologies supporting guidance and warning systems.

To initiate discussions on the capabilities of Mid-IR technology, the VIGO Photonics R&D team presented two new demonstrators:

  • NDIR Demonstrator – A gas detection system (CH₄, CO, CO₂) based on the 4EF-5 module, showing how to easily build a functional gas analyzer without a complicated design process.

  • FIRE MAN Demo – An interactive demonstration using an uncooled, 32-element MWIR array that locates a lighter flame and automatically extinguishes it, demonstrating the speed and high precision of fire detection.

During the trade fair, the company also presented its product portfolio segmentation into EPI-wafers, Easy-adaptable solutions and High-end products for the most advanced applications. Particular attention was paid to the DevKit- a set of accessories for the AMS family that eliminates entry barriers related to high costs and lack of specialized knowledge, while simplifying integration with existing systems. Thanks to the included components, the DevKit significantly lowers the threshold for entering infrared technology, enabling fast and effective R&D work in size- and cost-sensitive applications. The product also features short lead times, allowing for a smooth transition from the design phase to implementation.

The latest products from the VIGO Photonics portfolio were also showcased, including:

  • PV-2TE-5-0.33×0.33 - A detector optimized for eliminating optical noise, designed for precision laser gas analysis.

  • TO46 - A compact and cost-effective detector with an immersion lens, dedicated to high-volume production in medical diagnostics and consumer electronics.

  • 32E LWIR - An analog module with a linear LWIR array, expanding the company's temperature measurement offering.

  • LabM-I-13 - A programmable detection module designed for FTIR spectroscopy and Free Space Optical Communication (FSOC).

  • microM-I-5 - A miniature detection module operating at room temperature, ideal for industrial process monitoring and safety control in rail transport.

Participation in another edition of the world's largest photonics exhibition allowed the company to once again emphasize its global position and role as an innovative leader in infrared technology.

VIGO Photonics plans to remain active this year in key industry events, such as SPIE Defense & Security (USA), Loitering Munition Systems Summit (USA), OFC (USA), EPIC Summit 2026 (France), and MSPO (Poland).

VIGO Photonics' participation in Photonics West is co-financed by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development under the European Funds for a Modern Economy program, activity: Promotion of the brand of innovative SMEs.

VIGO Photonics S.A. (WSE: VGO) is a global manufacturer of high-tech solutions - the most advanced mid-infrared photonic detectors, dedicated modules and semiconductor materials. Innovative devices have been recognized and used by numerous international customers from the industrial and transport sectors, environmental protection, medicine, defense and security.
