On Monday, we had honor to host at VIGO Photonics S.A. Professor Glenn Boreman, President-Elect of SPIE – The international society for optics and photonics.

Prof.  Boreman walk through our labs and together with dr Adam Piotrowski discussed  about the future of infrared detectors and a huge potential of photonic industry.

Glenn Boreman is Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics and Optical Science and the Director for the Center for Optoelectronics & Optical Communications at UNC Charlotte. In 2015 he was elected for a President of SPIE for 2017.  He is coauthor of the graduate textbook Infrared Detectors and Systems, author of Modulation Transfer Function in Optical & Electro-Optical Systems, and Basic Electro-Optics for Electrical Engineers. He has published more than 100 articles in the areas of infrared detector and focal-plane analysis, optics of random media, infrared scene projection, and transfer-function techniques. Dr. Boreman is a Fellow of SPIE, the Optical Society of America, and the Military Sensing Symposia. In addition, he is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He and two of his students received the 1995 Kingslake Medal from SPIE.”
