Another strategic funding for VIGO Photonics
13 February 2025

On February 11, VIGO Photonics announced the signing of an agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR) for funding the project "Integrated Photonics Systems for Free-Space Optical Communication (FSOC)" under the first Priority of the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG) program. The funding will support the development of one of the company's product lines based on scalable technologies developed within the HyperPIC project.
The project will be implemented by a scientific-industrial consortium led by VIGO Photonics. The consortium partners include the Warsaw University of Technology (Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics and the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies – CEZAMAT) and the Łukasiewicz Research Network's Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics. The total eligible cost of the project amounts to PLN 25,000,187.50, with funding covering PLN 21,451,628.08, which represents 85.81% of the eligible costs. VIGO Photonics' share of eligible costs is PLN 12,500,187.50, with PLN 8,951,628.08 allocated in funding.
The Project funding supports the development of a product line based on scalable technologies developed as part of the HyperPIC project.
Each solution intended for clients has unique applications that determine its design and functional assumptions. The development and refinement of these solutions, by nature, proceed independently of the investment phase, requiring significant additional financial outlays. "The funds obtained through these application-based projects support the implementation of activities related to the development of individual products," emphasized Adam Piotrowski.
