Values and rules
At VIGO Photonics, our rules and values define the principles that guide our everyday decisions and behaviors. They represent what we stand for as a company and how we work together to create lasting value—for our clients, our teams, and the future of innovation.

Create customer value
Always put the client's interest first; get full knowledge of the client's need; define the value that Vigo creates for him and build a chain of internal clients who add a portion of that value; look at your work through your client's eyes; work only makes sense if it is value creation - the rest is waste;

Be honest and act with integrity:
Act on what you preach; don't be afraid to think differently from others but tell them about it; talk calmly and directly about difficult issues; say what you think but let others do the same; judge but accept other's judgment with humility; respectfully question what you disagree with - in conflicts in conflicts focus on common interests; do not sandbag but seek an agreement; show respect

Initiate and take responsibility:
Think like an owner; take risks; consult and make decisions; do not sacrifice achieving a goal for the benefit of today, act without undue delay - for the good of the company and the team; take responsibility for the consequences of your actions; hold yourself accountable first and then others; take matters into your own hands - no task is beneath you

Inspire and support:
Always try to bring new ideas to the collaborative work; observe the surroundings and get the best; expect and require innovation – from yourself and others; listen carefully and build understanding; spot and develop good ideas of your colleagues; support team members in carrying out good ideas; do not let the talent and work of others be wasted

Plan and accomplish:
Before you start acting, think what is the goal you want to achieve; prioritize and estimate opportunities; cost; gather the necessary collaborators; create a real team and implementation plan; share your work and focus on achieving key results; effort matters only when it leads to the intended results

Dig to root causes:
Always try to understand why; go where things happen; diagnose and solve problems at the source; cultivate curiosity; constantly broaden and deepen your knowledge; take time to analyze – do not be satisfied with quick conclusions; keep contact with details but put them in a broader context; read instead of guessing

Keep standards high:
Expect and demand the highest quality; such will be the result as the process that leads to it; provide accurate and complete information on time; map conflicts of interest; everyone is a quality controller; always inspect when picking up and sending work; pass on only what meets the requirements; react to mediocrity

Improve and simplify:
Strive for simplicity and elegance; constantly seek better solutions; be open to new; be very good at something and keep getting better; try to improve something every day; observe what you are doing, how you are doing it, what you are doing it for and why; watch closely and eliminate waste; create a better standard

Take on challenges:
Grow out! Be ambitious and bold – don’t make excuses; do not complain, just say what you need to act; do not be afraid of big steps – small-scale thinking leads to stagnation; build teams around challenges; challenges are an opportunity for growth and development; change can be difficult, but don’t wait for it to become a necessity

Learn on failures:
Persistently search for the way to your goal; let the problems emerge, because that’s the only way to learn from them; seek solutions rather than blame; do not be afraid of failures – they are signposts; failures are part of the action – but try to fail as fast and cheap as possible; analyze the causes of failures and share your conclusions
